Abstract

Financial Literacy lacked research that defined the demographics in relation to populations situated in the Philippines. Moreover, several studies have shown the observed decline in the financial literacy amongst individuals throughout the years. Therefore, it has been established that financial literacy is an essential field that should be studied to avoid concurring with this negative trend in financial literacy. The objectives of this study is to The purpose of this study is to determine the demographic factors that are impactful to the variables of financial literacy of senior high school students in UPRHS: to categorize the demographics of senior high school students in UPRHS; to quantify the variables of financial literacy of senior high school students in UPRHS in terms of (1) financial landscape, (2) planning and managing of finances, (3) money and transactions, (4) financial attitude, and (5) financial behavior, and to analyze the demographics of relation to the variables of financial literacy of senior high school students in UPRHS. This field was approached through quantitative means and analyzed accordingly through parametric and non-parametric means. Findings show that only sex, strand, and club membership were significant variables to some of the financial literacy variables in the study. With relation to this study's findings, it thereby concludes that choosinga strand and being a club member should not be ignored by students in establishing a better foundation in financial literacy.
