Abstract

Some factors that affect the ability of the student to understand the limit concept were investigated and determined in the study. An exam was designed and constructed using the different subconcepts of limit. The finalized exam, which was checked and approved by instructors who have taught Math 36, was administered to thirty (30) Math 36 students from whom primary data were obtained. Test scores and other variables were used to arrive with a frequency distribution table for each variable. Also, percentages of samples who understood each subconcept of limit was obtained. Descriptive analysis of these values were made. This was used to arrive at recommendations to aid both the teachers and the students achieve better student-understanding of the concept of limit.
