Abstract
Cubic splines is used to interpolate the Commissioners 1918 Standard Ordinary Mortality Table. The minimum from all the maximum errors is chosen to find the best piecewise cubic spline interpolant for the whole table using tour different starting solutions sets with M entries. M are chosen to be less than N data points (M x N) to show that there would still be a good approximation for the survival function.
