Abstract

A three-phased major practice was conducted. It consisted of orchard and nursery management held at the Fruit Crops Orchard and Nursery, respectively, of the Department of Horticulture, a rural practicum phase at BO. Sta. Cruz, Bay, Laguna and a marketing phase conducted by interviewing a lessor of a citrus orchard in the Bicol region. The major practice was undertaken between July 19, 1978 to October 3, 1978.

Different cultural practices in the first two phases were undertaken. In the small farm practicum, the farms were described, some practices done, problems identified and some recommendations offered. A number of technological information were transferred to the farmers and demonstrations on asexual propagation were conducted in the barrio school.

One marketing channel of citrus fruit was studied and the leasing practice of a citrus orchard was discussed.
