Abstract

The study is a comparison of three health plans, namely, Pamana Golden Care, Fortune Care and PhilamCare, using the multi criteria analysis. Twenty respondents classified into four income groups evaluated a set of criteria. The cost of the plan, the insurer and the benefits were considered important criteria in choosing health plan. The three alternatives were evaluated in relation to the weighted criteria. The lower income group assigned the cost of the plan with a large weight of importance, thus preferring the Pamana Golden Care Health Plan since it offers the lowest price. The higher income groups preferred the PhilamCare due to the result that more weights were assigned to the insurer and the benefits for which PhilamCare was identified to dominate the other two plans. Considering all income groups, Fortune Care Health Plan was outranked by the two other health plan.
