Abstract
Soil indeces of the soils in forty three locations of corn fertility trials in 1976 to 1978 was determined using the land characteristic rating for corn production (FAO, 1978; Sys, 1977b). Soil index was significantly correlated with the grain yield of the control and fertilized corn. It was also significantly correlated with the type of climate. Some of the land characteristics and their ratings were significantly correlated with the corn grain yield of unfertilized and fertilized corn.
