Abstract

Sampling finite, homogenous and non-periodic population of sorghum plant height from a uniformity trial test, systematic test, systematic sampling had the smallest true variance of the mean; the variance of the mean of unrestricted random and stratified random sampling did not different significantly. Hence, in this study, systematic was most efficient among the three sampling schemes used. The two stratification schemes, namely, the parallel and cross stratifications used in this study were found to be equally efficient.
