Abstract

This study presented, compared and analyzed the social benefits provided by the Government Service Insurance and the Social Security system. Differences on the rates of contributions, working formulas advocated, nature of benefits and its condition for entitlement were examined for it influence the amount of benefits received by its members. Corresponding GSIS and SSS cost benefit ratios of sample employees were computed. The t-test on differences on the cost-benefit ratios showed GSIS members received smaller amount of benefits than SSS members.
