Abstract

A set without boundaries is considered a fuzzy set. Such a set is characterized by a membership function which assigns to each object a grade of membership ranging between 0 and 1. A fuzzy number is defined as a convex, normal fuzzy subset of the real number of line. Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and the maximum and minimum of fuzzy numbers are discussed.
