Abstract
The effect of the different supplements in the proliferation of Kagawara Boonrub, Mokara Chark Kuan "Red" and Mokara Khaw Phaik Suan x Rasri Gold protocorm-like bodies (PLBs) were investigated. Significant effect on the protocorm population and protocorm size were observed on media supplemented with BA, Ki, NaEDTA and with or without Vitamins. The inclusion of NaEDTA also promoted green color. Thus, the abovementioned supplements were necessary for a rapid proliferation rate.
The effect of varying concentrations of banana, sucrose and different hormone supplements on the initiation of differentiation of the three intergeneric vandaceous hybrids were studied using direct and indirect transfer of PLBs from the liquid media to the different solid treatments. PLBs on 5% banana and 1% sucrose, and the inclusion of 5.0 ppm IBA were found to be effective for differentiation. On the other hand, NAA was found to be effective in rooting Kagawara Boonrub plantlets.
