Abstract

The teaching internship was conducted at Crop Science Cluster, College of Agriculture, University of the Philippines Los Banos. A laboratory class of horticulture 20 (Principles of Vegetable Production) was observed, handled and managed by the student intern for specific exercises for two semesters. Each session had 3 hours duration and was conducted once a week every Wednesday 1-4 pm for the second semester, AY 2010-2011,under the supervision of Dr. Renato C. Mabesa and for two laboratory exercises every Tuesday I-4pm for the first semester, AY 2011-2012 under the supervision of Dr. Elda B. Esguerra.

For the 2nd semester, AY 2010-2011, under Dr. Renato C. Mabesa, the student intern spent 15 weeks (87 hours) for observing and assisting the faculty-in-charge, 107 hours for preparation to her actual teaching, 3 weeks (9 hours), for three exercises of actual teaching, 14 hours in preparing part of the theoretical and practical exams, and 12 hours for joining the fieldtrip. For the 1st semester, AY 2011-2012, under Dr. Elda B. Esguerra, the student intern spent 36 hours for preparation to her actual teaching, and 2weeks (6 hours) for two exercises for her actual teaching. A total of 271 hours were spent by the student intern for the whole teaching internship.
