Abstract

An insurance company uses the mortality table that best approximate their past experience. Since mortality rates very from time checking of mortality assumption is always needed. Comparison of actual death rates against the mortality table rates using graphical representation and statistical techniques is used to find the table that best resemble a company is experience. Also, in choosing the closest mortality table that fits the company, a margin should be allowed to encompass sudden changes in the mortality rates of the company.
