Abstract

The major practice was conducted at King Louis Flowers and Plants, Inc. in Baguio City to familiarize me with the different field operations in small fruit (berry) production. Observations and participation on the daily farm activities were performed from June to September, 1996. Data were obtained through actual participation and interview with the consultant and supervisor on small fruits as well as with the field workers.

The major practice covered the different cultural operations and practices performed in the production and management of strawberry, raspberry and blackberry. These include establishment of nursery, land preparation, liming, mulching, planting, fertilization, irrigation, pest control, pruning and training, and harvesting. Also included are postharvest operations and marketing. A summary on the production and management in the farm and the community were also included in the text Recommendations to some of the problems encountered in the farm are mentioned.
