Abstract

The study investigated the Datemfloor precast slab, a slab used in the Unilab Corporate Center, in terms of construction process, structural design, and factors affecting the time and cost of construction. The slab was originally designed as conventional cast-in-place slab. The construction and fabrication of Datemfloor slab was presented. Structural analysis shows that it has adequate moment capacity, shear strength, and satisfies serviceability requirements compared to the original cast-in-place slab. Uses of the Datemfloor can fast-track the construction, but will cost more than the cast-in-place slab by 20.31%. A benefit-cost analysis was made and shows that the use of precast slab more advantageous than using cast-in-place slab.
