Abstract

This study analyzes the determinants that affect the sectoral employment choices of females in the labor market in three different sectors, namely: agriculture, service and industry in the Philippines using the Family Income and Expenditure Survey of 2015 as the data source and multinomial logistic regression as the method.

Based on the results, the factors that significantly affected the choice of females in working in the industrial sector are as follows: educational attainment, household head age, the number of household dependents, and household technology. Moreover, educational attainment, household head age, marital status, household income, household technology, and household tenure all have significant effects on sectoral employment choices of females in the services sector.
