Abstract

A Virtual Interface for Thermodynamics was developed for the students taking up General Physics I of the University of the Philippines at Los Batlos, Laguna who have no prior thermodynamic course. 1-he interface was done using various interactive softwares. The interface focused on discussing the principles of thermodynamics including Temperature, Heat, and the Laws of Thermodynamics. It contains animated images and buttons to get the interest any user. Simple simulations and interactive animations were included for interactivity. A set of Filipino-based examples were utilized for users to better relate the principles being discussed with the real life applications in the Filipino setting. The interface is recommended as a supplement to traditional means of teaching and not to be used as the main course of instruction.
