Abstract
Chromosome number, meiotic behavior, and pollen fertility of three trees each of M.oleifera Lam. from Umali Subdivision and Raymundo compound. College, Laguna and Juvilee Ville Masaya, Bay , Laguna were studied. The normal chromosome number was found to be 2n=28. the most frequently observed abnormalities were reduced chromosome number (2n=26) in diakinesis; laggards, non-congression. early disjunction in metaphase; and laggards, bridges and late disjunction in anaphase. Telophase I and II were observed to be 100% normal. Pollen fertility was found to be generally high at 90.62% which could be explained by the high percentage of normal cells in the stages and by the 100% normal Telophase I and II.
