Abstract

The major farm practice was conducted from August 1 to August 20, 2011 in LDR Piggery Farm, Inc., Brgy. Pulong-Yantok, Angat, Bulacan. The farm is subdivided into three farms where LDR 1 and 3 are growing-finishing enterprises while LDR 2 is a farrow-to-nursery enterprise with a sow level of 300. Most of the time were spent in LDR 2 since most of the management practices in a swine farm are done in the breeding, gestating, and farrowing section. The farm practice aimed to apply the theoretical knowledge obtained from the university and to gain hands-on experience in an actual swine farm operation. Technical analyses were done to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the farm for the student to formulate possible recommendations for the further improvement of the farm.
