Abstract
The student spent 150 hours of training from April 16 to May 12, 2012 at the Quality Assurance department of Coca-Cola Bottler's Philippines, Silangan Canlubang Plant. The four sub-departments where the student spent were in Materials acceptance, Microbiology laboratory, bottle washer and monitoring and in line 6. CCBPI is an American owned company started in 1886. There were 6 lines in the plant. Lines 1 and 2 are where the carbonated beverages in returnable glass bottles are manufactured. The lines 3, 4 and 5 are the water lines. These are the lines where distilled and mineralized water are manufactured. Line 6 is the last and the newest line in the plant. This line is where they process the carbonated beverages in PET bottles. In the materials acceptance, the student analyzed the raw materials that were used for the manufacturing of the products. In microbiology laboratory, the microbial assays of the products, equipments and raw materials are analyzed also by the student. In the bottle washer monitoring, the student learned how to check if the bottle washer machine is functioning well. And last, in line 6, the student learned to check the packaging, its content and the overall quality of the product.
