Abstract
The mode of pollination and dispersal was studied in three Loranthacease species namely Mecrosolen cochinchinensis (Lour) van Tiegh., Scurrula philippinensis (Chan. and Schlecht.) G. Don, and Texillus estipitatus (Stepf) Dans., from Mt. Makiling. The M. cochinchinensis flower showed a violant anthesis caused by birds. Its visitors include the Sunbirds, the white-eyes, and the Flowerpeckers which also feed on its fruits. The white-eyes and the flowerpeckers were seen to pierce the flowers of T. estipitatus. The flowerpeckers were also observed to feed on the mistletoe fruit. In addition, a case of floral "optional or facultative mimicry" of fruits was noted in T. estipitatus as well as in M. cochinchinensis. Nectar-robbing bees (Trigona ap) were observed to forage on T. estipitatus and S. philippinensis. Mutualism with the Trees sparrow was also noted on the latter
