Abstract
An 8:3 ratio of normal to aborted seeds was established using random of calamansi fruits obtained from 6 year old trees. Only 5% of aborted seeds grown unasuceptically in tetri dishes germinated but were very weak and eventually died. The effect of two culture media on in germination of aborted seeds of calamansi was compared potential embryos grown in Medium B (Murachige and Tucker salts + 100ppm GA + 100 ppm NAA) had the highest number of shoots Twenty healthy seedlings were germinated from aborted seeds and are now ready for transplanting. Morphology of the other seedlings obtained ranged from well-developed to poorly developed roots and shoots. Morphological differences obtained can be attributed to the genotypes of the seedlings. Cytological studies and evaluation of the breeding values of these regenerants are recommended.
