Abstract

The practicum was conducted at Dairy Products and Technology Development Division (DPTDD), Los Banos Laguna from April to May, 2012. DPTDD is a division under the Animal Dairy Science Cluster (ADSC) in the University of the Philippines, College, Laguna. The dairy plant produces products including fresh milk, the popular choco milk, yoghurt and white cheese. The student was assigned in quality control section, production and packaging division. The student was exposed and had become well-acquainted with the manufacturing processes of various dairy products as well as the equipment used by the company. She also performed various quality tests in the laboratory. Within the stay in the company, she was also able to apply the knowledge and skills acquired in the university through hands -on activities in the plant. Proper work ethics and time management was also learned. This dissertation includes the nature of the company, the student's experiences within the duration of the practicum and technical analyses on the dairy plant.
