Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors affecting the spending habits of gacha game players, specifically Filipino Genshin Impact players. Survey results show that the majority of the respondents are considered risk-averse, not loss-averse, and present-oriented. The variables in the study were tested through Multiple Linear Regression to know if they significantly affect the purchasing behavior of gacha game players. Only income/allowance was found to have a significant relationship with the highest monthly expenditure of the respondents on a gacha game. For the sample in the study, the majority of the respondents that are risk-averse, not loss-averse, and present-oriented have lower spending levels. However, for the respondents of this study, based on the regression results, a definite conclusion cannot be made about the relationship between the economic preferences of the respondents and their spending behavior.
