Abstract

The study analyzed the factors affecting the vaccination status of children aged 1 to 5 years old in Barangay Anos, Los Baños, Laguna. A total of 84 primary caregivers from Barangay Anos were randomly selected as the respondents for this study and a questionnaire was used through a face-to-face interview. Descriptive statistics was used to describe the socio-demographic factors of the primary caregivers and logistic regression was used to identify which variables would be statistically significant to the study. Marginal effects of the logistic regression were also computed to determine the effect of each independent variable on the vaccination status of children aged 1 to 5 years old. Results show that the majority of the primary caregivers has a high literacy level. Furthermore, logistic regression showed that age and number of children are statistically significant. Results show that the age of respondent and the number of children aged five and below were statistically significant factors. Moreover, findings indicate that there is a higher probability of primary caregivers’ children to be fully-immunized when they are younger and when they have more children aged five and below.
