Abstract

The plant practice was conducted in Edward Keller Philippines Incorporated located in Cartnelray Industrial Park 1, Canlubang, Calamba City, Laguna from April 10 to May 10, 2012 for a period of 150 hours. The company is known for providing a comprehensive package of services that includes any combination of sourcing, formulation, custom manufacturing products and solutions offered for both domestic and export markets. The trainee was assigned to work in the quality assurance laboratory where she performed documents accounting, product application and different technical analyses including physico-chemical analyses, microbiological analyses, sensory evaluation, and packaging material testing. The trainee also participated in a sensory test conducted by the Research and Development Department of the company as an evaluator. Throughout the practicum, the trainee was able to apply her theoretical knowledge learned from the academe while acquiring new skills and techniques in quality assessment of raw materials and fmished goods. Social development and proper laboratory and office etiquettes were also achieved.
