Abstract

AGM 88 Poultry Farm, situated in Barangay Masinao, Sta. Maria, Laguna, specializes in producing fresh chicken eggs for households, sari-sari stores, and businesses in the local community. Established on December 27, 2023, AGM 88 Poultry Farm strategically locates its farm where no nearby household will get disturbed by the operation, the farm ensures that freshly harvested eggs are readily available, addressing the demand for quality eggs in the area.

The establishment of AGM 88 Poultry Farm is particularly significant as access to fresh chicken eggs is limited in the municipality, with no commercial layer poultry farms operating across Sta. Maria Laguna, many residents rely on distant town markets for their egg supplies. By providing a local source of fresh eggs, AGM 88 Poultry aims to alleviate this concern for households, stores, and businesses alike. Aside from this, the record- keeping of the farm is being handled by the proprietor with an operations staff that is responsible for the day-to-day administration of feeds, vitamins, and maintenance.

The farm targets consumers who use eggs for various culinary purposes, including cooking and baking. AGM 88 has successfully supplied eggs to local stores, households, and individual customers, despite facing competition from egg vendors who source their products from commercial poultry farms from different regions in CALABARZON.

While the business's production capacity is currently limited due to external factors and a low productivity rate, it has relied on word-of-mouth marketing to attract customers and maintain a competitive edge. With the high initial cost of investment amounting to Php 458, 660.75, the farm aims to recuperate from the expenses incurred by securing partnerships with local stores and food establishments. At the same time, working on with partnerships at local stores in the municipality of Sta. Maria Laguna, the farm was able to market its produce online through its Facebook page wherein it was able to gain market visibility from different parts of CALABARZON and Metro-Manila. In the meantime, AGM Poultry was able to promote and market its produce in Quezon City since the marketing materials reached the market of people and family members residing in Metro Manila. Within almost a month of selling, the farm was able to generate sales of Php 19,759.50, with the system of selling weekly the farm was able to list orders within the days of not selling.

AGM 88 Poultry Farm aims to grow its presence in the chicken egg industry within the municipality of Sta. Maria Laguna as a small to semi-commercial poultry farm. Recognizing the market gap in the municipality, the farm sees an opportunity to become a leading supplier of freshly harvested eggs to nearby Barangay and the wider Laguna community.
