Abstract
Morphometric relationships, feeding pattern and food preferences were determined for 5almecis ,phaeroides Linn. collected from the seagrass bed at Sandbar, Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro. Highest correlation was observed between test diameter and body weight. Feeding was high during nighttime and low during daytime. 5.sphaeroides. primarily graze on seagrasses but feed actively on foraminiferans at night. Preference for Helodule was high over the other plant species (CymodoceA > Enhalus > Halophila > Padina > Syrinoodium) based on electivity values.
