Abstract
Examination of the meiotic behavior of Elephantopus scaber showed that it undergoes essentially normal microperogenesis. A chromosomal count at diakinesis gave the haploid number n=11. This result is the same as the European and Indian reports and an earlier local report
Minor observation were observed: late migration, precocious disjunction, and laggards resulting in unequal distribution of chromosomes. These chormolities, however, did not greatly disturb the meiotic process.
