Abstract
The avifauna' survey of two suburban ecosystems collectively recorded 26 species, with 24 birds found at the golf course site and 14 present at the residential area The higher number of bird species at the golf course may be attributed to the presence of denser vegetative cover and greater variety of plants in the site compared to the homogenized grass-dominated residential area. Most of the birds present in the residential area are adaptable and highly tolerant of human presence and disturbance. The index of similarity for the two sites is 63% with 12 species shared between both areas. Passer montanuns was the most abundant species of bird recorded in both sites.
