Abstract
Spiders collected from coffee plants along Los Banos and Bay, Laguna revealed the dominant occurrence of four jumping spiders such as Habrocestum sp.. Marpissa sp.. Phidippus sp. and Plexippus sp. The morphology and cytology of these four coffee spiders were determined. Hsbrocestum sp. possessed a diploid chromosome complement of 2n-38.Marpissa sp. had a chromosome number Of 2n-26,Phidippus sp. had 2n-34 and Plexippus sp. had a chromosome count of 2n-26.The sex determining mechanism of arpissa sp. was XX-XO type. Due to insufficient cytological evidences the sex determining mechanisms of the remaining three species was not determined.
