Abstract
Leukocytes from five male and five female volunteers were treated with four reserpine concentrations: 0, 1, 1. 67, 2. 5, and 5 ug/ml. Treatment resulted in a decrease in mitotic index and increased chromosome condensation. No significant effect on chromosomal aberrations such as gaps, breaks, and loose sister chromatid pairing as well as theploidy level of the cell was observed. The probable implications of the observed results were discussed.
