Abstract

Meiotic cells of Jatropha hastata Jacq. sampled from student Union Building. Agronomy and Los Baden Subd. were ,..died for chromosome number. meiotic behavior and pollen fertility. The chromosome number at diakinesis was 2n = 22. Chromosomal abnormalities observed were laggards 17.06%). non-congression (10.95%) and early, disjunction 7.20%) in metaphase I; laggards (:6.52%) and late ,,,3unction (5.82) in anaphase laggards 17.11%) and non-congression (8.28%) in metaphase II: and only 1,3gards (11.78%) in anaphase II. Telophase I and II ells were 100% normal. In meiosis II. configurations oberved based on the orientation of the spindle fibers were the N-type, S-type, V-type, L-type and y-type. Pollen fertility was 91.16%
