Abstract

To determine the prevalence of agglutinins of Brucella suis in swine in the country, 454 serum samples from 13 provinces were screened using rapid slide agglutination test. Reactors were obtained from every province, the highest number of which came from Rizal.

Findings indicate the prevalence of B. suis infection in the 13 provinces and this may account for the current reproductive failures and wastages in swine production.
