Abstract
Thirty blood samples from a native goat population were separated into hemolysate and plasma fractions. Each of the fractions were subjected to disc-gel electrophoresis. From the hemolysate fraction, four types of hemoglobin were revealed and a two allele system is suggested to account for it. From the plasma fraction, bands separated into three groups. In group A, two bands showed evidence of correlation of occurrence. In group B, the 13 and a-globulins were found. The bands showed polymorphism in terms of differences in mobility and number. The third group was identified as albumin and was the only one among the plasma proteins positively identified because of its fast mobility and large amounts.
