Abstract
The effects of short-term feeding administration of 0, 10%, 20% and 30% Loucaena leucocephala incorporated in the daily dint of male mature BALB/c mice (Mus musculus) on the hepatic catalase activity wore investigated. Twenty animals were used. They were randomly divided into four groups assigning five replications for each level of treatment. For a period of seven days, the animals were fed ad libitum with the corresponding L. leucocephala diets. They were also given fresh water daily. Results show that the different treatments did not significantly affect the final body weights and liver weights of the test animals during the seven days of feeding. How-ever, it was found out that when compared with control animals, there was a decrease in the hepatic.
