Abstract
Freeze-dried lipase front Rhizopus delemar with specific activity of 27.43 U/mg was used to catalyze the synthesis of isoamyl acetate in a solvent-free system. Maximum amount of isoamyl acetate in the final reaction mixture was 90.47% (v/v) based on gas chromatography; this yield of ester was obtained using 2.0M isoamyl alcohol, 0.51A1 acetic acid and 0.25g lipase incubated for 6 hours with shaking at 30°C Identification, quantitation and partial characterization of the product were done using gas liquid chromatography. ammonolysis, ferric hydroxamate test and solubility tests, respectively
