Abstract
Potato starch was hydrolyzed into sugar using glucoamylase immobilized on diethylominoethyl (DEAE)-Sephadex. The activity of the immobilized enzyme varied with the flow rate ,starch concentration, and acid pretreatment of the substrate. Using the some starch concentration, foster flow rates cause,: conversion of starch and produced low sugar concentration in t e eluate. On the other hand, using the same flow rate, low starch concentration produced higher per-cent conversion of starch but produced lower sugar concentration than high starch concentration. Higher conversion values and greater sugar concentrations were obtained when tie substrate was _pretreated with acid.
