Abstract

The major farm practice was undertaken in three different contract grower farms located in Liliw and Calauan Laguna and in Taysan, Batangas from May 10- June 10, 2012. During the farm practice, the student enhanced her skill and gained actual experience of working in a large scale swine farm. She applied the theoretical knowledge she gained in the university. The student actively participated in all the activities she was assigned to, starting from farrowing up to harvesting finishing animals. She also developed the ability to deal with everyday situation and to build camaraderie with co-workers in the plant. The student analyzed the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats that she observed and experienced while working in the plant.
