Abstract
Samaniego, Nikki A. 1984, Bagasse and Rice Straw Ash Leacheates Pretreatment of Rice Straw for Biometha-nation. An undergraduate thesis submitted in partial fulfillment for the requirement of the degree of Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Chemistry, under Dr. N.G. Padolina, University of the Philippines at Los Banos, second semester 1983-1984.
The pretreatment of rice straw with bagasse ash and rice straw ash leacheates was studied using concentrations of 15% , 12%, 9%, 6%, and 3% (w/v). Significant differences among the different concentrations of the pretreatment agents were found. The treatments were found to effect a slight decrease in gas production and rate of production. No conclusions can be drawn as to the effect of pretreatment on gas quality and retention time.
