Effects of varying location of information carrier, lattice size and fractal dimension in the Moore-neighborhood information diffusion in a diffusion-limited aggregation cluster

Abstract

The effects of varying fractal dimension (1.56-1.65, 1.66-1.75, 1.76-1.85) in DLA clusters of different lattice sizes (51x51, 101x101, 151x151, 201x201, 251x251) and location of information carrier (at the center, branch, and from outside the cluster) were analyzed. When the information carrier was introduced at the center, the total time of diffusion did not have significant difference with varying fractal dimension. Also, the rate of diffusion was almost the same having a deviation of 0.034513. Fluctuation in the total time of information diffusion with increasing fractal dimension occurred when the information carrier was introduced at the branch and from outside the cluster. The computed deviations of the total time were 38.77 and 35.18 respectively. Increasing lattice size increased the total time of information diffusion but did not affect the diffusion rates when the information carrier was introduced at the center, at the branch of the cluster, and from outside the cluster. The computed deviations of the rate of diffusion with increasing lattice size were 0.013174, 0.065188, and 0.060164 respectively.
