Abstract

Five fungal diseases were found to be common on lanzones (Lansium domesticum Correa) in Majayjay, Laguna. Their distribution and prevalence were determined. Leaf spot of lanzones was the most prevalent and widely distributed. This foliage disease was found to be caused by a fungus, identified as Colletotrichum gloeosporioides Penz. Root rot was less prevalent but very destructive. However, its etiology has yet to be determined. Pink disease caused by Corticium salmonicolor Berk. et Br. and dry rot caused by Leptosphaeria sp. were both rated low in distribution but could be a potential problem of lanzones in the future. Sooty mold caused by Capnodium sp. was the least prevalent and appeared to have no serious effect on affected plants.
