Abstract

Pot experiments were conducted using BPI-76 and Peta rice varieties to determine the amount of removal of phosphorous and potassium in a lowland soil.

There was no appreciable change in the available phosphorous and potassium contents of the soil after five successive cropping. The growth of the plants was likewise unaffected by the number of plantings. This suggests that within the duration of experiment, phosphorous and potassium did not decrease significantly to permit extrapolation to the time these elements will limit plant growth.
