Abstract

Fritted materials can be used as nutrient carriers for plant growth. The solubility characteristic of frits is shown to be influenced by their chemical composition, and the release of individual nutrient varies despite the similarity in concentration of a particular element in materials. A less soluble frit appears to be more advantageous, within the limits of the experiment, a high concentration of this material did not give detrimental effect to plants.
