Abstract

Landscaping is a profession that combines art and science to arrange the natural environment to make an area attractive as well as functional for recreation. A Senior Citizen Park is defined as a park or recreational area designed concerning mobility restrictions imposed by old age through analysis and evaluation of the site and the participation of respondents in the conceptualization of the design. The study and analysis were conducted at Barangay Anos, Los Baños, Laguna from April 2022 to August 2022 until all the objectives were satisfied. Parts of the methodology are site evaluation, survey, drafting of the landscape plan, budget estimation, and design presentation and revisions. A survey was made to gather different opinions and ideas from some people who would be the future users of the senior citizen park. The results of the survey showed that among the 55 respondents, 92.7% showed more preference for benches or seats, 94.5% preferred flowering plants in the park, 98.2% want accessibility and even ground surfaces for wheelchairs, and walkers and 60% are aware of Therapeutic Horticulture. Based on these results, the study concludes that a Senior Citizen Park is needed in the area based on the cost per square meter which is Php494.95/sqm. This is an affordable cost for a landscape park based on the current landscape market.
