Abstract

The plant practice was conducted at Newly Weds Foods (Philippines), Carmelray Industrial Park I, Canlubang, Laguna from April 12, 2013 to May 8, 2013. The company is a supplier of world class food coatings, formulated seasonings, capsicums and advanced services. The practicum aims to provide the student hands-on experiences and to apply the theoretical knowledge learned in the university into the actual food processing industry. The trainee was able to conduct physico-chemical and organoleptic analyses of the company's raw materials and manufactured goods. The trainee also performed matching tests and product development experiments. The student gained knowledge, skills and techniques which are useful in the food industry. The student learned how to deal and work well with co-workers and administrators. The plant practice served as a preparation for the upcoming years of the student as a food scientist.
