Abstract

The farm practice was conducted at Tuazon Farm, Cabog-Cabog, Balanga City Bataan from April 7 to May 8, 2015. The objective of the farm practice was for the student to be able to apply theoretical knowledge and principles learned in the university; have a hands-on experience on actual farm operations; identify and recommend solutions to technical problems observed in the farm and acquire self-confidence and supervisory skills in management of a swine farm. The student was able to experience the different farm operations and activities from breeding, farrowing, lactating, weaning and growing to finishing. He was also given the opportunity to handle the feed mill and marketing component of the farm. Important observations on the management practices were noted. The strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the farm were also identified and analyzed. Based on the analysis, suggestions and recommendations of possible solutions and modifications for the improvement of the farm were made.
