Abstract

The plant practice was conducted at the Research, Development and Quality Department of Kraft Foods Philippines Inc., 8378 Dr. A. Santos, Sucat, Parañaque City, Metro Manila from April 7, 2010 to May 30, 2010. The company produces cheese, powdered beverage, and other grocery products available nationwide. The main objective of the plant practice was to expose the student to the operations and processes done inside the RND laboratories of the company. The trainee performed different laboratory practices and department activities such as orientation with the core values, mission, vision and description of the company. The trainee was also able to work under the Cheese and Grocery Products Laboratory of the RND which allowed her to manage the laboratories and manufacture a small-scale processed cheese. At the end of the practicum, the trainee completed the one-paged instructional manuals of the equipment found in the laboratories. These activities enabled the trainee to enhance the knowledge gained from the university and acquire more from the industry.
