Abstract
The practicum was conducted at the Quality Assurance Department of Coca-Cola FEMSA Philippines, Inc. The plant manufactures carbonated soft drinks in single-serve returnable glass bottles and non-returnable PET bottles, supplying the majority to North, South, East and Central Metro, Batangas, Laguna and Quezon Province. The plant also manufactures still beverages in single- and multi-serve PET bottles. The plant practice aimed to expose the student to the plant operations in the selected company. The student was able to observe and perform the tasks in the different stations of the department processing lines for carbonated drinks and bottled water, and microbiology laboratory, materials acceptance, process, and RGB. Tasks include sample collection and physicochemical and microbial analyses of the raw materials and products, packaging quality attributes inspection, and product auditing. The student did not only learn theoretical and practical knowledge but had also learned the values expected in a working environment.
