Abstract

Franke Foodservice Systems Philippines, Inc. is a manufacturer of fabricated equipment used by different food establishments, both locally and internationally. However, the capacity of the Packaging Section in the Warehouse and Logistics Department is below the weekly demand of the fabricated equipment. From January to August 2014, only 67 out of 215 ordered equipment per week were satisfied on-time. It results to customer complaints due to inability of the company to give the orders to the clients on the scheduled day of arrival. With this, a loss amounting to 1,035,000 (USD) or Php 46,127,362.50 due to late deliveries was incured by FPH in a span of eight months. After presenting and evaluating the proposed actions, the study recommends that the unproductive times of workers must be eliminated to increase the weekly output of the department. Assuming that the recommendations were implemented, the weekly output can be increased from 31.16% to 74.47% and annual savings worth Php 31,973,703.82.
