Abstract

Abstract: The major farm practice was conducted at the Daily Dairy Farm, Inc., situated at Brgy. Ayusan I, Tiaong, Quezon from May 1 to May 25, 2013. The farm has a total lot area of 95 hectares which is divided into 26 paddocks used for pasture and production operations. A total of 183 dairy animals were raised in the farm as of May 2013. They are composed of calves, milking cows, dry cows, heifers, and bulls. The milk produced by the Daily Dairy Farms, Inc. is processed and marketed by Milk Joy Dairy Plant. The student was allowed to observe and perform management practices in the farm. The activities conducted were calf rearing, milking, manual feed mixing, baling of rice straw, breeding practices, fencing, and herd health management. The farm practice as well as the management protocol were consolidated and analyzed to evaluate the strengths weaknesses, opportunities, as well as the threats (SWOT) of the farm. With this evaluation, a sound recommendations and possible solution for the every problem encountered in the farm was formulated.
